My client wanted to expand his personal collection of decorative non functional ceramic wine bottles. I decided the most efficient way to create around 30 wine bottles is to create a two part plaster mold of a glass wine bottle. Then I created around 50 test tiles with varying textures and glaze combinations so my client had a large selection to choose from. It was such a fun project where I got to experiment with a variety of textures using slip trailing, carving, and distorting the original shape of the wine bottle. I also wasn’t limited to glazes that were exclusively food safe. I used techniques like bubble glazing, splatter glaze, abstract brush strokes, and glaze chips.
